Here are the rules:

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

• You must be at least 18 years old to enter and be a “Registrant” (registration is free) of the website.
• Contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C. and Canada, excluding Quebec. Void in Quebec, Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and other U.S. territories, and where prohibited or restricted by law.
• In order to submit a video, you must sign up for your free membership. Only those with memberships can upload videos on the site. This is done to keep the site clean from inappropriate videos.
• Employees of www.AnimalLoversUnited.com , Nature’s Corner® Magazine and Equatorial Group, Ltd, their parent company, and anyone involved in the production or administration of the contest, as well as immediate family, are not eligible.

HOW WILL IT WORK?

• We will choose five of the best videos that have been uploaded on our www.AnimalLoversUnited.com site. They can be funny. They can be emotional, loving and sweet. They can show incredible thought or kindness or intelligence by the animals.
  
• Once the top five are chosen, we will set up a public poll for people on the Internet to see the videos and vote.
  
• Entrants whose clips are chosen for the final poll must sign and return a release and indemnity form that basically states: they are the true owners of the clip; they give us permission to show the clip; and they license us to use the clip for promotional purposes.  We will provide the forms. But if you do not return them in time, we will not be able to put your clip in the poll.
  
• The entrant of the video with the most votes will win a $200 AMEX Gift Card, plus a year’s subscription to our Nature’s Corner® Magazine ( www.NaturesCornerMagazine.com ).
  
• Only ONE vote per person will be allowed in the public poll.
  
• The deadline for video entries is 12:00 AM on September 1, 2007 (Pacific Time).  The public poll will be run for one month after it has been set up.  It will be set up no later than September 15, 2007.

WHAT ARE THE GUIDELINES FOR THE VIDEOS?

• Please keep the videos short. They should run no longer than one minute, and preferably shorter.
  
• The submitted video must follow the guidelines for our site, as noted in the terms of use ( http://www.animalloversunited.com/tos.html ) and copyright tips ( http://www.animalloversunited.com/tips.html ). In other words, it must be your own work and not infringe on any third party’s copyrighted materials, trademarks or other intellectual properties.
  
• We are a small business and cannot afford a “dedicated server” for this website.  Therefore, at times, uploading may be a little slow.  So, please be patient.  We are constantly tinkering to make the site work better and better.  However, we cannot be held liable for entries not received due to slow download times or any other technical difficulties. :
  
• The video/photo program of this site supports the following formats: mpg, avi, mpeg, wmv, dat, 3pg, mp4, asf, mpeg4, divx, mov and flv.
  

A LITTLE MORE “LEGALEASE”

• By submitting your video you agree to release, discharge, defend and hold harmless www.AnimalLoversUnited.com , Nature’s Corner® Magazine and Equatorial group, Ltd. from any claim, expense or liability related to the submission of your video.
  
• When you submit a video to this site, we retain the right to use it for marketing and advertising purposes. In other words, if we are on a “talk show” to talk about the site, we may want to show your video. However, any private information would not be given out.
  
• If your video clip is chosen for the contest poll, all identifiable people appearing in the clip must sign consent forms and/or releases (which basically give us permission to use the person’s name, voice and likeness)  before the submission is eligible for prize awards.  A custodial parent or legal guardian must sign the consent/release for minors.  We will provide the forms but if they are not returned in time, we will not be able to include the clip in the contest.  However, by submitting a video clip, you will be deemed to have given us permission to use it (and the name, voice and likeness of everyone appearing in the clip) on and in connection with the Website, the contest and all advertising and promotion.  It will also be deemed your representation that all necessary consents and permissions have been attained.
  
• You agree that your participation and submission of a video shall be governed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York.
  
• We reserve the right at any time to change rules and procedures.
