Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada and Canadian Western Bank present The Greater Interest GIC® Video Contest!

Requirements

a. The video must not exceed two minutes in length.
b. The video must be submitted in English.
c. The video must be comprised of original footage and all title, right and interest in and to the video (including copyright) must be solely owned by the Entrant Team at the time of entry. It must not have been previously submitted, distributed or aired, or have been awarded a prize in any competition. It must not contain, as determined in the sole discretion of the Contest Sponsors, inappropriate content, or content that is likely to cause offense or to injure the name, reputation or standing of the Contest Sponsors.
d. Any video containing trade-marks or copyrighted material (including music) owned by a third party will not be accepted unless the Entrant Team obtains the express written consent of the third party to use such material and provides such written consent to the Contest Sponsors upon request.
e. If any person other than an Entrant appears in the video, then the Entrant Team must, upon request, provide to the Contest Sponsors a signed consent and release from that person.

Eligibility

This contest is only open to residents of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. To qualify, each entry must be submitted by a team of two entrants who are currently registered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada as each other’s mentor and mentee. Each individual entrant shall be referred to as an Entrant and collectively a team of two Entrants shall be referred to as an Entrant Team. Only one video may be submitted per Entrant Team.

Judging Criteria

Selection Criteria and Process: The Contest Sponsors will review all eligible entries and shall select the three videos that they determine in their sole discretion are the 3 best eligible entries (the “Top 3 Videos”). Eligible entries will be judged by the Contest Sponsors in accordance with the following selection criteria: positive impact on the community of the Proposal (50%); and originality of the Proposal and the video presentation (50%).
The Top 3 Videos shall be posted online at www.greaterinterest.ca. Public voting for the winning video will commence at 10:00 AM MST on September 19, 2012 and will close at 4:00 PM MST on October 24, 2012 (the “Voting Period”). The video that receives the largest number of votes during the Voting Period shall be selected as the first place video. The video that receives the second most votes shall be selected as the second place video. The video that receives the third most votes shall be selected as the third place video. Votes must be cast online at www.greaterinterest.ca. In the event of a tie, the Contest Sponsors will conduct a random draw from amongst the tied entries.

Prize

One grand prize of $2,500 will be awarded for the first place video. The prize money shall be sent by Canadian Western Bank to the local Big Brothers Big Sisters Agency where the winning Entrant Team is registered as a mentor and mentee pair. Big Brothers Big Sisters Agency shall apply the grand prize money towards any costs or expenses associated with carrying out the winning Entrant Team’s Proposal. The Contest Sponsors shall not be responsible for any costs or expenses in excess of the grand prize awarded. If one or both of the Entrants on the first place Entrant Team declines to carry out their Proposal within one year, the grand prize money shall forfeited to the local Big Brothers Big Sisters Agency where the winning Entrant Team is registered.

One $50 gift card to Boston Pizza shall be awarded to the Entrant Team that submitted the second place video. One $50 gift card to Boston Pizza shall be awarded to the Entrant Team that submitted the third place video.
