Special Libraries Association’s fabled past looks toward another century of connecting people with information. Can you peer into the future and see SLA’s leaders of tomorrow? Have an inspired vision of how SLA’s members will change in 25, 50, or even 100 years? Celebrate SLA’s Centennial with your video representation of SLA’s information professional of the future. 

 The Special Libraries Association Video Contest is open to all SLA members. You must be 18 years of age or older to enter.

There will be two categories of entrants: Students and professionals. Individuals can only be entered in one category. Students must provide proof of their student status during the contest period.

Entries will be judged by the Centennial Commission, based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and creativity (25%)
  • Unique portrayal of entrants’ view of SLA’s information professional of the future (50%)
  • Overall appeal (25%)

Based on the Criteria, the Judges will select finalists in each category.  Voting will be open to all SLA members beginning at midnight (EST), Wednesday, January 14, 2009. The Voting Period ends at midnight (EST), Saturday, February 7, 2009. The Winners are the Finalists in each category who receive the most votes during the Voting Period.

Prizes: The winning entry in each category will be awarded:

  • $1,500 cash
  • Up to $1,500 to attend the Centennial conference in Washington, DC, 14-17 June 2009
  • Up to $1,000 for Chapter programming
  • Up to $1,000 for Division programming
