CollegeWeekLive Video Contest - $2500 - Students Only - Under 60 seconds - Due: MARCH 25, 2008

February 29th, 2008 · 1 Comment

CollegeWeekLive is looking for creative videos about the college search process.
Everyone’s college search is unique. The college search process can be stressful, fun, exhausting, or exciting. So grab a video camera and tell us about your experience. Tell us about the stress of narrowing your school choices, or about an interview that went well (or not so well), or just hit record and vent about the whole process in general! Your experiences and creativity could win you the $2,500 cash prize!

Submit your college video to the link below. Videos will be screened and posted to our CollegeWeekLive YouTube channel within 24 hours. The 5 videos that receive the most views will be selected as finalists, and the winner will be determined during CollegeWeekLive - March 25th and 26th !

VidOpp NOTE: Because winners are chosen by number of views, the earlier you enter the more likely you are to win - don’t wait till March 25!

Finalists will be determined by views, so remember, be creative! Use your creativity and imagination to make the videos as interesting as possible! Increase your views by sending your video to friends and family, link it to your blog or website, and send the video to your Facebook friends using our $2,500 College Video Challenge application.
In a 30-60 second video, creatively describe your college search experience

  • You must be registered in order to submit your video
  • Contestants must be a high school student at the time of submission. Proof of age will be required by the winner.
  • Entries should NOT mention any particular schools by name
  • Entries should not contain any pornographic material or adult language
  • Videos will be posted on YouTube. All YouTube rules and restrictions on posting videos also apply, including which file types can be uploaded.
    A note on Uploading video:
“YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats such as .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG transferred from most digital cameras, camcorders, and cell phones. We’ve found that files converted from .wmv to one of the other formats our webpage accepts generally have a lower playback quality than other file formats. If you have your source video in a format other than a .wmv file, you may want to encode directly to MPEG4 (DivX, Xvid, SVQ3) at 640×480 resolution, with 64k Mono MP3 Audio. If you have a source .wmv in high bitrate and larger resolution you may want to convert to MPEG4 at full resolution and then resizing to 320×240 using a high quality resizing algorithm - this can help reduce the number of artifacts you end up with.”
  • Finalists will be determined by views. One winner will be chosen during the March 25th and 26th CollegeWeekLive. The winner will be notified on or before March 28, 2008. This winner will receive the $2,500 prize

Just a note: Technically the winner will be chosen by judges… the finalists are chosen by views.

    Piece out,
