America needs your help! It needs to wake up to the dangers of our dependence on foreign oil. So become the new age Paul Revere and create a great 30 - 60 second video commercial for Americans for Energy Independence and support our message. The video must be topical and geared toward driving web traffic to www.ei2025.org.
Post your contest video to YouTube, send your YouTube link and your contact information to contact@ei2025.org. Include your full name, address, phone number and email address. Once posted, help promote the contest and get people to view your video!
Please also submit your video to www.ei2025.org/involved_video.asp in .mpg, .avi, or .mov format.
Ideas for you to consider include, but are not limited to:
- Alerting people to the dangers of the U.S. being dependent on foreign oil.
- The impact of energy dependence on various aspects of our daily lives.
- How energy dependence affects our institutions, including business, government, and the military.
- What life will be like or how our way of life will change after peak oil if we do nothing.
- How decision makers are affected by the money that is made from foreign oil.

Please include in your commercial a title page which includes the commercial’s title and optionally your name, production credits and your contact email. This title page can be placed either at the start or end of your commercial but must be included to be accepted as an official entrant. Please do not display links to personal websites. The title page should be shown for 3 seconds, either proceeded by or followed by your 30-60 second commercial (63 seconds maximum). Your ad should end with our website displayed in readable text (www.EI2025.org) and our name Americans for Energy Independence, in whatever way is appropriate for your ad. It is a requirement to display our website for at least 3 seconds at the end of the commercial.

There is no restriction on the approach which can be anything you desire from comical to documentary dead serious. The videos can be edgy, but please avoid language or situations that would be inappropriate for standard TV.

Winner Selection Process:
YouTube viewing activities will be used to select the top 15 videos. From these fifteen (15), two will be selected by an Americans for Energy Independence Board appointed committee to receive the $500 dollar First Prize awards, three (3) will be selected for Second Prize awards, and Honorable Mention recognition will be given to those videos that standout. Chances of winning will depend upon entries received. We are anticipating 200 entries at this time which would mean a 1 in 40 chance of winning one of the prizes.
Contest Participation Guidelines/Rules/Disclosures:
- Send your YouTube link and your contact information to contact@ei2025.org. Include your full name, address, phone number and email address. You may submit up to 3 entries, but if you do, only the best (1) will be considered for the First and Second place awards.
- Contest is valid once ten videos have been submitted
- Videos must be posted on YouTube and submitted to Americans for Energy Independence (www.EI2025.org/involved_video.asp) during the submission period to be considered
- Videos must pertain to the topic and will be reviewed and approved by Americans for Energy Independence prior to being in the contest - entrants will receive email confirmation of acceptance.
- Relatives of Americans for Energy Independence Board Members or contractors are prohibited from entering
- Subject to YouTube rules, use of the submissions become the sole property of Americans for Energy Independence, Inc. and may be used in any manner approved by the Board of Directors, Americans for Energy Independence.
- All entries must conform to YouTube rules and posting guidelines.
- Winners are responsible for any and all applicable taxes
- All prizes will be awarded, but Americans for Energy Independence reserves the right to feature all, some or none of the selected winners on its website.
- Ownership/Use Of Entry: By submitting your entry, you agree to assign all rights to the entry to Sponsor (including copyright and all right, title and interest therein) and to permit Sponsor and its designees to edit the commercial and to use and distribute the entry, in any and all media now known or not currently known, throughout the world in perpetuity without compensation.
