The Documentary Competition is a place for filmmakers to submit their work, vote on the work of their peers, and compete for funding for a documentary.
Every few weeks we start a new round of competition - you can enter your short at any time during the competition and your submission will go live immediately! You and your friends can vote at any time on the documentary shorts submitted so far.

One of each round’s two winners will be chosen by Filmaka out of ten documentary submissions with the most peer votes in that competition cycle. Another submission will be chosen by the Filmaka team in its sole discretion. Both winners for that round will receive $500 and go on to compete at the end of the year for funding for a full-length documentary

Your Documentary submission must be 30 seconds to 3 minutes long and you must be a registered member to submit and to vote.
The September round of the Documentary Competition closes on September 15 - another 2 winners will be chosen at that time and the next round of competition will immediately begin!

For every competition cycle, two winners will be chosen. One winner will be chosen by Filmaka from ten documentary submission with most votes in that competition cycle and one winner will be chosen by the Company in its sole discretion from the pool of Documentary submissions in that competition cycle. If a Documentary which you submitted is selected as a winner, the Company will pay you Five Hundred Dollars  to be used in making another Documentary as follows
