Introducing the Second Annual InternationalStudent.com Travel Video Contest –  In a 4 to 8 minute video, in the most compelling fashion you can, tell us why we should send you on a trip or to study abroad. Tell us about the trip or the study abroad, and why you should win, in the video application.

Entries will be judged on creativity, video production and editing quality, originality and interest level in the proposed trip or study abroad, and pure subjectivity on our part. Click here to see the winning entry and some other excellent entries from last year’s contest.

To enter, you’ve got to be at least 18 and enrolled or planning to enroll in college or university outside of your home country. If you are not currently studying outside of your home country, your entry must describe your proposed study abroad.

The winner will receive the $2500 grand prize to travel anywhere in the world! We also will have some fabulous runner-up prizes.

Rules and Regulations

• All applications must be on video. Each applicant must also submit a signed entry form. The entry form and more information on the video application is available here.
• The deadline for applications is 15 October 2007. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
• You must be 18 or older and enrolled or planning to enroll in college or university outside of your home country.
• If you are currently studying outside of your home country, your video can describe any trip you would like. If you are not currently studying outside of your home country, your entry must describe your proposed study abroad.
• The winner will book all his or her own flights and other travel arrangements. You can enter and use the prize for a trip that you have already planned or booked!
• The winner for the InternationalStudent.com Travel Video Contest will be announced on our site the week of November 12-16, International Education Week. The winners will also be notified by email and telephone.
• The winner will be expected to maintain a blog documenting the trip. This blog will start immediately after the winner is announced, and will continue through the trip until return to school. Contributions are expected at least once a week during the preparation for the trip and daily during the trip.
• Your video entry and the blog will be the property of InternationalStudent.com.
• A little less than 4 minutes or a little more than 8 minutes is fine if important to your video.
• Originality and interest level in the trip, and creativity and quality of the video, are the main criteria. Click here to see last year’s winning video and some of the other entries.

Entry Form and Video Application Information

Your submission to the InternationalStudent.com Holiday Travel Adventure contest must have two components:

1. A signed entry form.
2. A video application. The exact content of the video is up to you, but the best one, in our subjective opinion, will win. Some of the criteria we will use for judging can be found here. The best possible format for your entry is on a Mini DV in NTSC format. If you must, you can burn the file onto a DVD or even a CD in either .MOV or .AVI format. All footage must have reasonably high resolution. Do not send files compressed for web use. PLEASE KEEP A BACKUP OF YOUR ENTRY.
