I’m wondering if you can find out what’s going on with the Logitech video contest - yesterday was the last day to submit entries, but voting should continue until, “… on or about Oct. 24.” However if you try to go to the site, http://feelliberated.com it redirects you to the main Logitech website now.. Perhaps it’s just temporary and they are working on the site like they have recently but it’s getting frustrating - I’ve got a bunch of friends lined up to vote and they can’t.

Thanks for the heads up Kevin - reviewing the post above, I don’t see any role for votes in selecting the winner (popularity is not listed among the criteria above). It looks to me like a pure sponsor-judged contest, so the voting aspect is a good way to get people to watch videos, but does not contribute to selecting the winner.

If they do not announce a winner the week of November 3 I will check with them.
    Regards,
    Douglas

Douglas, from their contest rules: “The Sponsor uses a formula, which tabulates a score for each video, based on the number of votes received and its average rating. The five (5) Videos with the highest final score as determined by Sponsor, will be the First Place Winners.”

So it does sound like voting counts- but right now the site is working but you can’t vote- it asks you to login/register but it doesn’t take you to a login screen… Anyways check out my vid it’s “paper lawyer liberates his life”

The grand prize of $10,000 is determined strictly by Logitech appointed judged, but there are 5 first place winners ($2,500 each) which, as Jhbmw007 pointed out are determined by the formula based on votes..

Also like Jhbmw007 pointed out, the site is back up now, but there is no sign-in / login link - it’s not where it was before and I have not been able to find it. Furthermore, the Register link goes to the Home page of the Feelliberated.com site… Not to a registration page (also like Jhbmw007 pointed out..) This is very frustrating

Since I’m griping, I might as well continue, one of the other things Logitech did was this instant winner game where you could win all kinds of stuff. I won something like 5 songs from Rhapsody and the website told me I would get a code in my email which I never got. I checked spam and all the regular (and not so regular) things and there was no trace of the email ever being sent.

I took it to the next step and contacted Logitech via the instructions on their Contact Us page, and after two emails (and about a month now) I have not heard back from them.. I really don’t care about the songs, but it’s a bit frustrating with the Video contest.

And another issue, early on after I first registered I wasn’t sure which of my passwords I had used so I looked for the normal ‘forgot your password’ link… There was none. So again, I emailed them via their instructions on the Contact Us page - no reply to 2 of those emails.. Eventually I systemically went through all of my normal passwords and variations and figured out which one I used but again, frustrating. It doesn’t seem like they’ve got it together that well. In fact, it seems like someone’s kid is running the website..

Here’s the email reply I received back from them: “As far as the voting
goes, The voting period is now closed. The contest period began on August 1, 2008 and ended on 11:59pm PST October 15, 2008.”

So it sounds like voting is over. Kinda stinks because I got my video in right before the deadline- just enough time to get it 3 “poor” votes (from other contestants I’m sure) and now voting is shut down.

Well, at least they replied to you. I just re-read the rules - and it seems that I mis-read them.. I thought that the last date they would accept votes was Oct 24, but it says, “The tabulation of scores will be completed on or about October 24, 2008″

So, while I agree, not accepting votes less than 24 hours after the last point they would accept video’s is not quite … accomodating - and hardly gives entrants a chance to get Logitech in front of a lot of people, it is still within the rules they’ve stated..

    Oh well.. Good luck jhbmw007!

I did not enter this contest but the I have
had the same problems. Some of the companys are sort of slow on coming through with prizes or details. Logitech is a big company , I would think they would want
to keep a clean contest and honor the prizes.
I almost entered this one but I had a hunch……………… yes I have had some success and yes I am waiting for some prizes
timex finaly came through (I thought I won somthing else ) any way its more about ethics. If you hold a contest, honor the people who took the time to praise your product. If it was easy everybody would do it. rockon

This one is still quite frustrating. Their website has stated that the voting period is over … be sure to come back on October 24th to see who the winners are.. Well, I’ve been checking, and checking and checking and… Ok, you get the point.. It still says Oct 24th - and yes, it does specify 2008 - I checked that too! lol

Oh well.. I still love their products.
