muvipix Video Contest - NC - Open to All - Under 2 minutes - Due: MARCH 31st, 2008

muvipix is hosting their annual video contest, with 3 categories and a number of great prizes for video editing, including software and hardware.  Categories include Mini Movie/Music Video, Commercial/Trailer, Slideshow, and Premiere Elements Only.

Mini Movie/Music Video
Create a 2 minute movie that tells a story and has a definite plot.
It can be a drama, musical, comedy or documentary.

Commercial/Trailer
Create a 30 or 60 second commercial/trailer for a fictitious Movie, TV Show or product.
You must use the entire 30 or 60 seconds, no more, no less.

Slideshow
Create a picture slideshow, no video.
The Slideshow can be up to 2 minutes long.

Premiere Elements Only - Open Category
This is an open category… the only rule is that you use Premiere Elements ONLY.
Maximum length is 2 minutes.

All entries must be in FLV or WMV format, 320 x 240
No entry can be longer than 2 minutes in total length.
Entries over 2 minutes, not in the correct size, or format, will be disqualified.

Any software applications and tools can be used in creation of your video entry,
the only exception being the Premiere Elements Only category.

You may enter as many times as you like but a single video can only be entered in one category.
Be sure to choose your category wisely, if it can fit into more than one category select the one that has the closest fit.

We prefer that you use only legally licensed music in all contest entries. If you use unlicensed music, you do so at your own risk.

People’s Choice - Highest Popular Votes/Score Wins
First Place Mini Movie
First Place Commercial/Trailer
First Place Slideshow
First Place Premiere Elements
Second Place Overall
Honorable Mention
We will have a prize pool that winners will be able to select from.
The Grand Prize Winner will pick first, People’s Choice Winner second, … etc.

2 Premiere Pro CS3 w/Encore DVD (Windows Version) - (a $800 USD retail value)
1 Amazon $250 USD eCard
1 Epson Scanner ($250 USD Value)
1 Muvipix Lifetime Subscription (unknown value)
1 Muvipix 1 Year Subscription (a $50 USD value)
1 Premiere Elements 2 In A Snap book (a $20 USD value)

Entries will be accepted March 1st, 2008 at 8:00 am Eastern Time, through Midnight Eastern Time March 31st, 2008.
Entries will be uploaded to a muvipix Gallery location - There will be a special Album you can upload your video to called “2008 Video Contest”. Once uploaded and inserted in the album, you (or anyone else) will not be able to view the video again until public voting. Also, PLEASE provide a title to the movie, the contest category you are entering, a short description and a thumbnail. (thumbnail size should be no larger than 100×100 resolution)

On April 7th, 2008 at 10:00 am Eastern Time the videos will be open for public viewing and voting.
The public viewing and voting will take place until May 1st, 2008 at midnight Eastern Time.

Winners will be announced on May 5th and we will begin the prize selection process.

    I wonder if Premiere Elements Only means no still capture from the timeline with edit/improvement in Photoshop Elements … kind of a ‘gray area’ since that’s an intended function of PE.

    While attempting to join this contest, i recieved a page with nothing but this:
