Travelocity’s Roaming Gnome takes this nabbing business very seriously. We suggest grabbing some snacks and a comfy chair before reading all the intricate details of his master plot at the contest link.

Requirements

Create a video no longer than 60 seconds
explaining why you deserve to be nabbed,
and enter it here by October 20, 2012.
• Do make your video 60 seconds long or less.
• Do let the Roaming Gnome know why you deserve to be nabbed.
• Do explain why you would make the perfect companion for a trip around the globe.
• Do create your video in one of these formats: .mov, .mpg, .wmv
• Do make your video delightful and charming. You want to
win, right?
• Don’t include dirty words or nude scenes, you cheeky things.
• Don’t show logos or symbols on clothing or personal items.
• Don’t use copyrighted music
or images.
• Don’t submit a video that has been entered in any other contest or promotion.

• Must be in English;
• Must be in one of the following file formats: .mov, .mpg, or .wmv;
• Must not exceed 30 MB;

Eligibility

CONTEST IS OPEN ONLY TO ELIGIBLE LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, 21 YEARS OR OLDER AS OF DATE OF ENTRY. WINNERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO TRAVEL TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OFFERED PRIZES. DO NOT ENTER THIS CONTEST IF YOU ARE UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO TRAVEL.

Judging Criteria

At the end of the Entry and Initial Voting Phase, the seven Entries that received the highest number of valid votes will be named as Finalists, subject to verification and compliance with these Official Rules. If there is a tie among votes for Entries, then the tied Entries will be judged by the Judges according to the criteria set forth below and the Entry receiving the highest Judge’s Score will proceed as a Finalist. All remaining Entries will be judged by a panel of qualified judges comprised of representatives of the Sponsor (the “Judges”). The Judges will score each Entry according to the following weighted factors: (i) Originality – 30%; (ii) On-Camera Presence – 30%; (iii) Compelling Story – 30%; and (iv) Ability to Capture the Spirit of the Contest – 10%. All of these factors determine the Entry’s overall “Judge’s Score”. The three highest-scoring Entries will also be named as Finalists, subject to verification and compliance with these Official Rules. In the event of any ties, the highest score in criterion iv (“Ability to Capture the Spirit of the Contest”) will be used to break any ties.

Prize

Grand Prize (1): One Grand Prize Winner will be “Gnome Nabbed” and will receive a trip for him/her self plus one “Travel Companion” as defined herein. The trip will include travel to a destination in the USA and five international destinations located within Europe, Asia and South America, to be selected by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. The Grand Prize Winner and his/her Travel Companion will receive airfare from the Grand Prize Winner’s residence to the first travel destination for the trip to begin. Grand Prize Winner must carry with them the Travelocity Gnome and participate in certain activities, as selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion. A representative of the Sponsor will accompany the Grand Prize Winner and Travel Companion throughout the duration of the trip. The Grand Prize Winner and Travel Companion must be able to travel internationally and be able to spend approximately three nights in each destination, as determined by Sponsor. Due to the number of international destinations the Grand Prize Winner and his/her Travel Companion must have at least six months left on their Passports and at least 10 available pages to accommodate destination visa stamps. The trip will include all airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation in the destination cities, $200/person per diem to be used towards meals, activities and/or sundries, as selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion awarded in the form of 25 USD $400 gift cards, one gift card provided to the Grand Prize winner each day by a representative of the Sponsor for a total of $10,000 throughout the duration of the trip. Gift cards are subject to all Terms and Conditions printed thereon. In addition to the above, the Grand Prize Winner will receive $15,000 awarded in the form of a check made payable to Grand Prize Winner to help offset, but not completely eliminate, the tax responsibility associated with acceptance of the Grand Prize.
The Grand Prize Trip must be taken between November 29, 2012 through December 23, 2012, according to Sponsor’s directions and the Grand Prize Winner must be able to travel internationally and return to the United States uninhibited or the Trip will be forfeit and awarded to another winner, time permitting.
First Prize (9): Nine First Prize Winners will each receive $2,000 cash for a trip of the First Prize Winner’s choosing. The First Prize will be awarded as a check made payable to each First Prize Winner.
