Guerrilla Film Challenge – $5,000 – Open to all – Due May 18, 2012

Posted on 9:03 am in May 2012, Open To All, Over $5000 by Lynnie

The Guerrilla Film Challenge is a 2-day endurance event that taps the creative power of filmmakers from around the world for a global contest. In our 2011 event over 150 films were created from 17 countries across 6 continents (What’s up Antarctica?)

Requirements

The Guerrilla Film Challenge was created to motivate filmmakers and creatives to ‘get out there and start creating!’ By providing a framework and strict timetable, participants are forced to throw out all excuses and focus on the craft of making film, all the while enduring ‘real world’ pressures such as teamwork organization, leadership, compromise and tight deadlines.
During the event, student, amateur, first-timers and industry pros compete directly with each other to write, shoot, edit and deliver a short film in under 48 hours.
It’s anyone’s game. The team with a million dollars worth of professional equipment can easily lose to a team of high school kids with a borrowed camera. Originality and creativity are what count.
Times:
The 2012 Guerrilla Film Challenge will officially open on MAY 18th at 12:01 AM Eastern Standard Time. At that time teams will be able to login to the 48GFC.com website through a link that will be provided to them at the e-mail address they registered with.

Once logged in teams will click a clearly labeled “START” Button on the website. Clicking this button will officially begin each team’s “48 Hour Period”.

Teams may click the button anytime on May 18th after the official opening time. To account for time zone difference, each team’s 48 hour period is unique to them.

Teams will receive a Random Line of Dialogue, Random Genre, and possible other required elements as soon as they click the button.
The participating team/group must complete its film/video work in time to upload it through the 48GFC.com website before their 48 Hr. Period has expired.

Only works that meet the deadline will be screened or eligible for prizes. In that 48 hour period, all creativity will take place, including but not limited to:

Judging Criteria

Entries are judged by a panel of industry-experts across a spectrum of categories with creativity and originality weighted most heavily. The invaluable experience and varying backgrounds of the judging panel ensures that only the best of the best are awarded top prizes, regardless of budget or quality of equipment used. Past celebrity judges include Ghostbuster, actor and director, Ernie Hudson, comedy legend Dick Smothers and star of stage and screen, Audrey Landers, to name a few.

Prize

The winner receives a $5,000 Grand Prize but the real reward comes from proving to yourself that you have what it takes to do what you love.
