The Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) announces the inaugural S.E.T. Video Awards Contest. The S.E.T. Awards Video Contest gives the unique opportunity to create a television show about how you use science, engineering, technology and mathematics in your daily life.
Requirements
Deadline for Submissions: July 20, 2012
Entries must respond to the theme of the contest, as specified by the Contest Sponsor.
Entries must adhere to the constraints defined by the Contest Sponsor. Video Entries should also meet any size and length requirements specified by the Contest Sponsor. Entries not adhering to any specified constraints will be disqualified. Contest Sponsor currently set length limits at 3-5 minutes. Video size must adhere to YouTube and Votridia upload capabilities.
Each Contestant may submit only one Entry.
Once an Entry is submitted and accepted by reviewers it is considered final and may not be modified or edited at sponsor’s sole discretion. Entrants may be required to provide Entry in alternate format(s) for Sponsor use.
Upon submission of the Entry, the Contestant waives all rights to the use of the Entry in promotional and Contest-related activities or as deemed appropriate by the Contest Sponsor and Contest Parties.
No Entries will be returned.
Participation is subject to Contestant’s consent to the Contest Sponsor’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, as posted on the Contest website or accessed via mobile application.
Eligibility
Open to all legal U.S. residents 18 years of age or older.
Judging Criteria
Submissions must be entertaining, compelling and accurate if entrants hope to win.
All Entries will be screened by the Contest Sponsor to ensure compliance with the Terms of Service before being posted for community viewing.
The Contest Sponsor will specify the process for how Entries will be ranked. Ranking options supported by the Contest Platform include 1) direct selection by the Contest Sponsor, 2) community voting, and 3) ranking by a panel of judges; a combination of these ranking methods may also be defined by the Contest Sponsor.
The Contest Sponsor will specify, at its sole discretion, the criteria for evaluating Entries.
The Contest Sponsor will specify, at its sole discretion, whether any prizes will be offered to the winners of the Contest.
The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to verify that an Entry is in full compliance with these Contest Guidelines and Official Rules before it is recognized as a winning Entry and before awarding any prize.
Prize
Trip for two to the S.E.T. Awards in Los Angeles and a guidance meeting/lunch with a producer, writer, director, executive or other qualified member of the creative community. There is one award for each of the four categories: non-fiction amateur, non-fiction professional, fiction amateur, fiction professional.
