At the Michigan Virtual School, the goal is to help change lives for the better. If they’ve done that for you, they want to hear about it! Shoot a short (two-minute maximum) video explaining how online learning has made a difference in your life; the video with the most votes on the Facebook page at the end of the contest will win an iPad 2!
Video Criteria: Film yourself talking about how taking an MVS course has made a difference in your life. Did it free up some time for your after-school job? Maybe you were able to catch up on credits and graduate on time, or take some classes to gear up for college? If you aren’t comfortable talking on camera, feel free to get creative … make a cartoon, use puppets, whatever!
Please include the following elements in your video:
1. The MVS logo: Put our logo somewhere in the video. It can be in the background, on a slide at the end of the clip, re-created with pizza toppings, etc.
2. A link to the MVS website: Somewhere in the description of your video on YouTube, include a link to http://www.mivhs.org.
3. Title your video “Changing Education, Changing Lives – Your first name.”
This contest is open to all Michigan Virtual School students who were enrolled in the 2010-11 academic year. Employees of Michigan Virtual School and their families are not eligible.
The finalists will be selected based on the criteria stated in the contest announcement. All decisions are final and binding. The top 5 selected winning videos will be posted to the Michigan Virtual School Facebook page. In order to vote for your favorite video, you must “like” the Michigan Virtual School Facebook page.
The video with the highest number of votes at 11:59 p.m. on July 31, 2011, wins the contest and the iPad 2. The winner will be announced on the Michigan Virtual School Facebook page on August 1, 2011, and notified via the contact information submitted on the contest entry form.
